ISAO.net were a specialist network services provider that was established in 1999 under the umbrella of the CSK-Sega group. The name of the company came from the chairman Isao Okawa and the ISAO part of the company’s name was made into an acronym for Interactive Service for Amusement Online. On the 17th of February 2000 the company announced a new strategy in which they would develop network infrastructure so consumers could better enjoy online content. As part of the strategy they planned to issue a new Dreamcast browser disc Dream Passport 3 in the spring of 2000. Below is a Gamespot Japan article on the announcement. The company has had a long history with providing Sega of Japan’s network infrastructure which continues through to today where they manage various online services for Sega such as the Phantasy Star 2’s online payment system. The scope of the company’s involvement with Sega of Japan is long and complex and will be covered in a future dricas related entry for now i’ll concentrate on their consumer published software.
While ISAO.net developed and released various Dream Passport browser discs they only published one commercial piece of software for the Dreamcast and that was the Japanese exclusive でじこのまいブラ or Dejiko no Maibura which was released on the 14th of December 2000 and retailed for ¥2,480. Below is a coming soon report on Dejiko no Maibura from Famitsu’s website. (c) 2000 FAMITSU.com
ISAO corporation and Broccoli Co,.Ltd supported the release of Dejiko no Maibura with a pre-order campaign in which if you were lucky enough to register you could receive an original Dejiko no Maibura poster. (c) 2000 BROCCOLI
While Dejiko no Maibura is usually considered to be a game it’s actually a misnomer the software is officially described as a Dreamcast Dedicated browser and that description is an apt one. If your unfamiliar with the character Broccoli’s official DiGiCharat website has a handy history of the character as well as a list of different types of media featuring DiGiCharat such as comics, anime, games & browser software which you’ll find Dejiko no Maibura under. © BROCCOLI illust /Koge-Donbo*
Dejiko no Maibura is a modified version of the Dream passport 3 browser software that has a DiGiCharat theme. Di GiCharat was a popular licensed property from BROCCOLI Co,.Ltd which licensed a wide variety of different DiGi Charat properties from games, anime & manga. I’ve linked below to Dejiko no Maibura’s official site so you can find out more information on the title. (C)ＢＲＯＣＣＯＬＩ ２０００ イラスト／コゲどんぼ (C) ISAO CO., 2000
Dejiko no Maibura featured a number of DiGiCharat enhancements to the Dream Passport 3 browser software. The commands are all fully voiced from the characters from the anime. Access to the exclusive Dejiko no Maibura BBS board was only through the software and the ability of the DiGiCharat characters to expand their vocabulary the more you used the software were the main selling points.
The big question about this software is if you’re a fan of DiGiCharat would you want to pay for a themed internet browser of it? The software doesn’t have any technical enhancements compared to the standard Dream passport 3 browser which was bundled free with the Dreamcast hardware as the included internet browser disc at the time of Dejiko no Maibura’s release.

(NOT FOR SALE) 非売品 discs & other media
I don’t own any individual 非売品 disc for Dejiko no Maibura and to be honest i’d be quite surprised to find if one exists. As normal the Dreamcast Express, Dream Preview & Dreamcast Magazine might possibly have some content relating to Dejiko no Maibura but until i catalog them i can’t say for sure.
As for any other media relating to the Dreamcast Dejiko no Maibura browser software i only know of the pre-order poster. I’m sure that theres a veritable mountain of licensed goods relating to DiGiCharat but probably not much more than the pre-order poster relating to the Dreamcast exclusive Dejiko no Maibura browser software.
